Manty on a potato pillow: cook 2 dishes at the same time in one bowl

Delicious, juicy manti on a potato pillow. It is not only tasty, but also convenient that 2 dishes are prepared in one dish at once: manti and aromatic potatoes for a side dish that can be served, for example, with fish baked in the oven under the marinade. Relatives themselves will choose what they like best.

And this is a recipe for fish baked under a marinade in the oven, which I propose to cook in parallel with mantas.

For the test:

kefir -250ml

egg -1 pc

salt -1 / 2 tsp

vegetable oil -1 tbsp

flour -450 g

For minced meat:

minced meat -500g

onion -350g

salt -1 / 2 tsp

black pepper - to taste

sour cream -1 tbsp

water -50ml

potatoes -1 kg

salt -1 / 2 tsp

black pepper - to taste

COOKING METHOD

First, knead the dough. Break 1 egg into a bowl, pour in 250 ml of kefir, 1 tsp. salt, pour in 1 tbsp. vegetable oil, mix. Add sifted flour and knead the dough like on dumplings, I need 450 grams of flour. We remove the dough for about 20 minutes, while we do the minced meat.

Twist the meat, measure out 500 grams of minced meat, cut 350 grams of onion into cubes and chop with a knife. Add the onion to the minced meat, half a tsp. salt, black pepper. Stir for juiciness, add 1 tbsp. sour cream and water 50 grams, the minced meat should be juicy.


Knead the dough, cut off a part of the dough, roll out a thin layer, cut out round pieces. Put the minced meat in the middle and pinch like ordinary manti. (You can see in detail how I do it in the video below at 1:26 minutes) So we prepare all the manti, the manti that will not go into the pan can be frozen, and then when you need to get it and cook it.

Peel 1 kg potatoes, cut into slices, add salt and half a teaspoon, mix black pepper.
Pour vegetable oil into a saucepan, put the potatoes, pour in water, so that the potatoes are in the water, but do not tear it. Put the manti on top of the potatoes. Close with a lid and simmer over medium heat for 40-45 minutes, until tender.
Chop the dill with a knife, add to soft butter, squeeze out a couple of garlic cloves, mix.
Lubricate the finished manti with oil and garlic. We fall to the table of manti, and today I have juicy fish in the oven for the potatoes, see the cooking recipe in the video above.
