“Herring under a fur coat” according to this recipe turns out to be tender and light. The apple gives a special taste and lightness to this recipe. This version of the salad is prepared quickly and easily. Of course, before serving, you need to let it brew for a couple of hours in the refrigerator. By the way, the onions for this recipe can be pre-pickled if desired.
In addition, I will show you how to decorate the “Herring under a fur coat” salad in an original way, with a minimum of effort.
Prepare the salad "Herring under a fur coat" according to this recipe, I think that it will not disappoint you either.
Ingredients:
- slightly salted herring - 1 pc.
- boiled carrots - 3 pcs. (medium)
- boiled potatoes - 3 pcs. (medium)
- boiled beets - 2 pcs. (small)
- apple - 1 pc.
- onions - 1/2 pc.
- mayonnaise - 250 g
- salt to taste
- greens - for decoration
Step by step recipe
1. Cut off the head and tail of lightly salted herring. Cut off the head together with the fins. These parts of the fish will be used to decorate the salad.
Gut the herring carcass, clean and remove the bones. Cut the peeled herring fillets into small cubes.
2. Put the chopped herring fillets in an even layer on the bottom of the dish in which we will collect the salad.
3. Cut half a small onion into small cubes.
Spread the chopped onion evenly on top of the herring.
4. Cut the apple into four parts. Peel and core each part. Three peeled apple on a coarse grater.
5. Spread the grated apple evenly with the next layer on top of the onion.
6. Grate boiled carrots on a fine grater. Put the carrots in an even layer on a layer of apples.
7. For convenience, put the mayonnaise in a culinary bag. You can also use the usual tight bag.
On a layer of carrots, apply a net of mayonnaise and salt a little.
8. Three potatoes, too, on a fine grater. We spread it on top of the carrot layer and make a net of mayonnaise.
The potato layer also needs to be salted.
9. Three boiled beets on a fine grater. Put the grated beets on a potato layer. We apply a mesh of mayonnaise.
10. Spread the mayonnaise over the salad with a fork. We try to make it as neat and beautiful as possible, since this is the last layer in the salad.
Let's start decorating the salad. Put the well-washed fish head on the salad on one side, pressing it a little. Likewise, pressing a little, insert the fishtail into the salad from the other side.
11. On top of the salad, apply a drawing of a fish skeleton with mayonnaise. On the edge of the dish, decorate the salad with parsley leaves if desired.
