Prepare pickled herring in tomato sauce with this recipe, it's very simple and delicious!
Ingredients:
- frozen herring - 2 pcs.
- tomato paste - 1 tbsp l.
- onions - 3 pcs.
- salt - 1 tbsp. l.
- sugar - 1 tbsp. l.
- vinegar 9% - 40 ml
- vegetable oil - 100 ml
Step by step recipe
1. We clean two unsalted herring of entrails, bones and skin.
Cut the peeled fillet into portioned pieces.
2. Cut three medium-sized onions into half rings.
We take the dishes in which we will marinate the herring. Fold sliced onion and herring slices in layers.
3. Now let's prepare the marinade.
Pour 40 ml of 9% table vinegar, 100 ml of sunflower oil into a saucepan, pour 1 tbsp. l. sugar, 1 tbsp. l. salt and add 1 tbsp. l. tomato paste.
4. We put the marinade on the fire and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. As soon as the marinade begins to boil, remove it from the heat and let it cool.
5. Pour the prepared herring with onions with the cooled marinade.
Cover the container with the herring with a lid and put it in the refrigerator for about 12 hours.
After 12 hours, the pickled herring can be served.
The herring turned out to be very tasty, and it is the combination of tomato paste with this fish that creates a pleasant spicy taste. Be sure to cook such a pickled herring, you will not regret it.
