Italian dessert Panforte
First you need to prepare a panforte baking dish. I take a detachable form 20 cm in diameter, my dessert will turn out to be low.
Lay parchment inside, additionally grease it with odorless vegetable oil.
Fry nuts for panforte for 10 minutes in the oven at 160 ° C degrees.

Combine wheat flour with cocoa and spices. Add nuts and candied oranges to it. Mix everything thoroughly.
Put honey in a saucepan and add brown and white sugar to it, stirring it first.
By the way, if your sugar is very coarse, then it is better to grind it in a coffee grinder before adding it to the saucepan. Pour 2 tablespoons of water over it.
Keep the syrup on medium heat, stir and cook to 116 ° C degrees. Do not go far from it; this syrup must be closely monitored.
As soon as it starts to boil, immediately reduce the heat to minimum and wait until it calms down.
You can use a thermometer, but this accuracy is not required here, so just let the syrup about 3 minutes from the moment it boils completely.
Add 70g dark chocolate and let dissolve.
When everything is well mixed, immediately pour the syrup over the dry ingredients.
Keep in mind that the syrup thickens as it cools, so mix the mixture quickly until smooth.
Transfer the resulting mass to the prepared form and distribute it evenly.
Preheat the oven to 150 ° C degrees.
I send the panforte to the oven for about 40 minutes.
Panforte is ready. When baking, it should rise slightly.
Allow the dessert to cool completely before taking it out of the mold and tasting it.
Free the panfort from the mold and parchment. Traditionally, this dessert is sprinkled with powdered sugar or cocoa powder on top. I prefer powdered sugar.
To prevent the dessert from sticking to the parchment during storage, I sprinkle it with powder on both sides.
Now take a clean piece of parchment and place the panfort over it. Wrap it gently and let it brew for at least a few days so that all the ingredients are saturated with the scent of spices.
If the panforte will be stored for 2-3 days, then you can leave it at room temperature, but for a longer period it is better to put it in the refrigerator.
In the end, I got a very delicious christmas dessert. It smells like spices, nuts and candied fruits.
Panforte can be diced, dipped in powdered sugar, and added to edible gifts. This is a wonderful New Year's candy idea that creates a New Year's Eve anticipation.
I wish you bon appetit and God bless you!
