In one of my previous publications I mentioned that now we buy chickens only in the "halal" category, and they are much tastier than ordinary ones. It's the same with meat - both lamb and beef.
I was immediately objected - that I most likely confuse halal products with kosher (this time), and that between halal products and the usual difference is not much - they mold the leiba, because the leader performed a religious ceremony, and that's all (this two).
To which I can object only one thing: the taste of halal meat and ordinary meat is different!
I do not argue that halal products can be passed off as ordinary ones (and there are manufacturers who do this, but this is a scam). So if you suddenly decide to try it yourself or go, you will have to look for a place where they sell truly halal.
But why there is a difference in the taste of meat, there is a lot of controversy.
Someone argues that the animal should initially be raised "clean", without the use of hormones, antibiotics and everything else, exclusively on natural food. Actually, according to the same requirements as for kosher products.
Believe it or not - everyone's personal business, I doubt that in large farms it is possible to completely cancel the use of compound feed or antibiotics (although it is probably possible to reduce the use of antibiotics, but these are exclusively mine assumptions). Well, as for lamb - then, in general, the use of any dirty trick is impossible, these animals are very sensitive to it, therefore they graze them in pastures, and not keep them in a stable, you cannot feed them with anything at all - over… dying.
But so, the main indicator of halalism is correct slaughter, without torment and fear.
And the difference in the taste of meat is explained by the fact that it does not contain an enzyme released during fright and spoiling the taste of the final product - meat.
When I was in Turkey, I wondered many times - why is the meat so different? And they always answered me, feed is nothing, slaughter is the main thing.
Believe it or not - everyone's personal business. But cats and children - in general, halal products are excellently distinguished from ordinary ones, and you cannot be fooled.
