Chicken legs baked in the oven with creamy mushroom sauce

Ingredients: chicken legs, garlic, mushrooms, cream, dry white wine, Dijen mustard, butter, vegetable oil, salt, pepper, spices

Cooking method:

Pour a little vegetable oil into the pan, put the garlic (adjust the amount to taste) and fry until golden brown. Then we delete.

We spread the prepared chicken legs, cut into pieces and fry over high heat until golden brown on all sides. Tip: 🚩 it is better to cover the pan with a lid to avoid splashing of fat 🚩 before turning the pieces chicken, reduce the heat to a minimum and after turning over, again cover with a lid and add the maximum the fire. On average, each side takes about 3-4 minutes to fry.

At the same time, prepare the mushroom sauce. Put a piece of butter in a frying pan and fry the mushrooms. Mushrooms can be any, both fresh and frozen, but in this case they must first be thawed. Fry over high heat until excess liquid has evaporated.

Then add white dry wine and fry over high heat for a minute until the alcohol evaporates. If for some reason you do not want to use wine, skip this step. 😉

Then add Dijon mustard. If you want the sauce to be spicier, you can add Russian mustard. We mix.

Now pour in the cream. Again, their amount can be adjusted to taste and availability. The amount varies from 150 to 250 ml. If the sauce turns out to be thick, it can be diluted with water or, on the contrary, made thicker by adding 1 tbsp. l. flour.

Add spices to taste, salt, pepper. You can add parsley, thyme, rosemary, but be careful! Do not forget that these are fragrant herbs and it is quite enough to add a very small amount of them. Simmer the sauce until thickened over low heat for a few minutes.

Put the fried chicken legs in a refractory form and pour the mushroom sauce.

We put in an oven preheated to 180-190 ° C for 20-30 minutes.

Serve with any side dish you like: mashed potatoes, rice, stewed or fresh vegetables. It all depends on your preferences.
