It's amazing how one simple ingredient dramatically changes the usual recipe beyond recognition. This vegetable salad recipe is popular in Arab countries. Bulgur groats give it a special zest. Salad turns out not only vitamin and healthy, but also nutritious. It is great for cooking for every day and will appeal to everyone without exception. Salad with tomatoes and bulgur is prepared without mayonnaise, so its recipe can be safely adopted by everyone who adheres to proper nutrition.
Preparing a salad with vegetables and bulgur is not difficult at all. Be sure to try this version of a summer salad - it's unusual and very tasty!
Ingredients:
- tomatoes - 250 g
- cucumbers - 250 g
- sweet pepper - 2 pcs.
- bulgur - 1/2 tbsp.
- onion - 1/2 pc.
- parsley - bunch
- dill - bunch
- lemon - 1/2 pc.
- olive oil - 3-4 tbsp. l.
- salt - to taste
- ground black pepper - to taste
Step by step recipe
1. First you need to properly and tasty cook bulgur.
For the salad, you will need half a glass of bulgur, rinse it well several times with water.
Put a small piece of butter on a hot pan. When the butter is melted, pour the washed bulgur into the pan. Stirring constantly, fry the bulgur over medium heat for about 2-3 minutes.
2. Then pour a glass of boiling water into the pan here, mix and cover with a lid. Reduce heat to low and cook for about 15 minutes.
3. While the bulgur is cooking prepare the rest of the ingredients.
250 g fresh cucumbers cut into cubes.
Two medium-sized sweet peppers are also cut into cubes.
4. Cut 250 g of tomatoes in half, cut out the stalk and cut into large cubes.
Half a medium-sized onion cut into small cubes. Onions can be replaced with green onions.
5. Finely chop a bunch of fresh parsley.
Also finely chop a bunch of dill.
6. Bulgur is already cooked, remove it from the heat and let it cool.
7. Pour the ready and already cooled bulgur, chopped peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, dill and parsley into a bowl.
Salt to taste, pepper. Squeeze the juice from half a lemon into the salad, this is about 3-4 tbsp. l.
We dress the salad with about 3-4 tbsp. l. olive or sunflower oil.
We mix everything well. Salad can be served immediately or let it brew for 20 minutes.
Salad with bulgur and vegetables turned out to be very tasty, satisfying and unusual. Bulgur gives a special taste to this salad. Be sure to prepare such a salad in the season of fresh vegetables.
