Meatless recipe of rice with lentils - Madzhadra

  • Well wash the rice and lentils under running cold water.
  • See the cooking time on the package lentils.
  • If 40-45 minutes - soak the lentils for 1-2 hours, if it is not necessary to soak for 20-25 minutes.
  • Pour the rinsed lentils in a pan with a thick bottom.
  • Pour to two full cup of cold water.
  • Add salt.
  • Put on the plate, to bring water to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to a minimum.
  • Close the lid and cook for 10-15 minutes.
  • Preheat a frying pan vegetable oil.
  • Put the rice and fry over medium heat for 4-5 minutes.
  • Add the rice to the lentils.
  • Close the lid and leave for a minimum heat for 15-20 minutes.
  • Cut the onion into thin strips.
  • Heat the oil in the frying pan liberated.
  • Put a bow.
  • Fry until golden state and almost ready.

Add cumin, turmeric, garlic.

All stir and turn off heat.
