The simplest recipe for a chocolate treat that's easy to make at home. You probably already have all the ingredients for chocolate sausage - you don't need to go to the store.
Recently I had a birthday and as a present I begged my mom for a recipe for chocolate sausage. Of course, it could be found on the Internet, but this will be a different recipe. And my mother wanted to please too. Now, during isolation, I cannot come to visit my parents, and my mother is pleased when I cook according to her recipes.
As a child, I loved chocolate sausage. In our family, we cooked it all together. My brothers and I were responsible for crumbling cookies, and my mother was responsible for everything else.
Step by step recipe for how to make chocolate sausage
Ingredients:
- Shortbread cookies 300 g
- Nuts or raisins 100 g
- Sugar 1 glass
- Butter 200 g
- Egg 1 pc
- Water 3 tablespoons
- Cocoa 5 tablespoons
- Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon (optional)
Without removing the cookies from the pack, I squeeze them in my fist so that they crumble into large and small pieces, and pour them into the bowl. It is possible to break each cookie individually, but it will take longer. I add raisins or chopped nuts.
All other ingredients are sent to a ladle and put on medium heat. It is better to pre-cut the butter into small pieces so that it melts faster.
With constant stirring, I bring the mass until the sugar is completely dissolved. If desired, you can bring to a boil, but this is not necessary.
Pour the hot mass into a bowl to the liver and stir with a spatula. It is important that all cookies are covered with chocolate syrup. I leave it for 5-10 minutes so that the cookies absorb some of the liquid and the mass cools down a little.
Put the cooled mass on baking paper and roll it into a sausage. Instead of paper, you can use cling film, foil or bags. I put it in the freezer until it cools completely.
In my childhood, my mother kept this sausage in the freezer and took it out a couple of minutes before serving. I still remember, while she was not at home, my brothers and I made raids to the freezer and ate all the sausage piece by piece. For which they then received a scolding, but it was worth it.
