Her Majesty, still that gourmet. The royal menu is practically monotonous, and that is why the queen fears that if she becomes aware of her favorite dish, she will be treated with this delicacy everywhere, without offering anything else! Wherever she went to visit.

The former royal correspondent of The Telegraph spoke about the culinary secrecy of Elizabeth II.

"If she had revealed this secret, she would never have been treated to anything else."

It turns out that the queen is still a sweet tooth and loves to pamper herself with a sweet tooth.

Favorite desserts Her Majesty:

  • dark chocolate
  • white peaches and strawberries that grow in the greenhouses of Windsor Castle
  • chocolate muss
  • chocolate sponge cake with ganache cream or icing

But without one special dessert, she cannot live even one of her days.
So this is chocolate sponge cake! It is served regularly.

Darren McGrady, who cooked for the royal family for 15 years and was Elizabeth's personal chef, spoke about her favorite treat.

“She always eats it to the last bite. If, for example, Queen Elizabeth did not eat the cake at Buckingham Palace and is going to go to Windsor Castle, then the remains of the dessert follow her.
I myself often went for her with a piece of cake packed in a tin can from London to Windsor. "

By the way, this very famous dessert was the "Groom's Cake" at the wedding of William and Kate Middleton. The prince is very fond of drinking tea with his grandmother Elizabeth and since childhood he became addicted to her chocolate cake.

The Queen even treats important guests with this dessert.

McGrady shared the recipe for this chocolate royal masterpiece. It turned out that you don't have to bake anything, because this is something like our "Anthill".

Ingredients for the biscuit:

220 gr. hard biscuits or sweet cracker
0.5 tsp l. butter for greasing the mold
110 g unsalted softened butter for dough
110 g Sahara
110 g dark chocolate
egg

For ganache cream:

220 gr. dark chocolate
30 gr. chocolate for decoration

Preparation:

1. Line a baking dish with parchment, grease with oil and place on a baking sheet.
2. Break each cookie into almond-sized pieces and set aside.
3. In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until the mixture lightens.
4. Melt the dark chocolate and add to this mixture, stirring constantly.

5. Break a large chicken egg (always in a brown shell) and beat everything until smooth.
6. Place the cookie cutters into the mixture so that they are completely immersed in it.
7. Spoon the cookie dough into the cake tin. The main thing is that no “holes” remain in the bottom of the future cake, because then it will turn over and the bottom will become the top.
8. Put the cake in the refrigerator for at least three hours.
9. Melt the chocolate for the cream in a water bath or very low heat.
10. Remove the cake from the mold by turning it over onto a platter.
11. Pour the melted chocolate over it and use a spatula to spread it evenly over the entire cake.

12. Allow the glaze to harden at room temperature.
13. Remove the remaining chocolate that has spread below.
14. The remaining 30 gr. chocolate can be melted or grated and used to decorate the cake.

The second place in the heart of Her Majesty is the Scottish cake "Dundee". She prefers it exclusively when traveling:

Even when she is on the plane, while having tea, she is served a cup of tea, a piece of Dundee, scone rolls and whipped cream.
English scones adored by Elizabeth II and her corgi.
