What's wrong with pasta, why are sometimes cheap ones better than expensive ones, and what have fakes to do with it? We will try to find real pasta together with experts.
I love it, I have pasta... With cutlets, sausages, fish, gravy, minced meat, cheese and ...
Yes, and most people eat this particular product much more often than vegetables or cereals.
But choosing the right pasta is difficult, and you don't want to buy a mass that is falling apart into porridge. And even in the expensive segment, the network has such problematic products.
The shelves in supermarkets are bursting with an abundance of multi-colored packages and consumers, of course, are happy with this choice, but in vain: it turns out that fakes are not uncommon in pasta.
Really? Are the pasta counterfeited? Who and why?
Yes, unfortunately it is. Usually pasta is made from quality flour made from durum wheat, with the addition of salt and sometimes eggs.
However, in fakes, the composition is somewhat different.
And in a nightmare, this will not be dreamed of: unfit flour is taken, sometimes even with mouse droppings, eggs are not used at all or they spoiled, instead of natural, synthetic dyes are added that are not intended for food products - and this is how many pasta are made.
Tons of such products are confiscated by employees of the State Trade Inspection, the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision and other similar services from small clandestine pasta "factories".
How to recognize a fake purchase? As a rule, it is not the low price that gives out to the scammers, but the packaging - the pasta is "rolled up" not in cellophane, through which you can see everything: color, consistency and brittleness, but in a dense box or paper.
And if it even says "Extra" or "N 1 in Russia!", It is hardly worth believing. And even more so - to buy ...
