If you have a lot of apples and don't know where to put them, then make homemade apple cider vinegar. Personally, I have been doing this for many years. I have a proven recipe, old, it is already 30 years old.
Ingredients:
apples
water
sugar
We need 1 kg of apples. Wash the apples well, preferably several times, be sure to cut off the rotten or spoiled areas. Finely chop the apples (you do not need to remove the peel) and put them in an enamel dish of a suitable size.
Now fill the apples with hot water, the temperature should be about 75 degrees. There should be enough water so that it does not just cover the apples, but is 3-5 cm higher.
Add 4-5 tablespoons of sugar and stir to dissolve the sugar completely. On this, in fact, all our work ended :)) Now the whole process will take place independently.
We put it in a warm, dark place (I usually have it on the balcony). Periodically, a couple of times a day, apples need to be stirred, otherwise the mass will begin to "dry out" and the result will not be what you need.
After 2 weeks, filter through cheesecloth or a sieve and pour the resulting liquid into jars.
An important point: we do not fill the jar to the very top, but not topping it up to the neck about 6-7 cm. We also leave the jars in a dark, warm place for another 15 days.
After that, the apple cider vinegar is ready. It must be poured into bottles or cans and closed with lids. The container in which the vinegar will be stored and the lids must first be sterilized.
That's all. Apple cider vinegar is ready to use for pickling and preparing a wide variety of dishes. Store the vinegar in a dark place.
