Mother-in-law's opinion: DO NOT CUT

My mother-in-law thinks there is no need to cut. She says that if you cut, the integrity of the cucumber is violated. And why break it if we salt or pickle cucumbers whole. Why cut off a piece of a cucumber?

As a result, in her opinion, the cucumber juice and with it all the "flavoring" substances go into the brine, and the cucumbers are not so tasty. And sometimes they become soft.

Plus, she thinks it's just extra work. She is also sure that such cucumbers are the most crisp.

My opinion: CUT

I think that cutting off the tips of the cucumbers is a must. Except for the gherkins. Now I will explain my position. The brine and marinade penetrates the cucumbers better through the slices, respectively, they are the most delicious.

In addition, dirt often accumulates in the tips, which can not be washed off well, and then the cans can swell and spoil everything. Also cucumbers without tips look in my opinion more aesthetically pleasing and appetizing.

And yes, I'm sure the sliced-tipped cucumbers are the crispiest. Although my mother-in-law is sure otherwise.

By the way, the husband in our dispute keeps neutrality))) He says that it doesn't matter to him whether the tips of the cucumbers are cut off or not, he doesn't see much difference at all, the main thing is that it is tasty)))
