How I pickle onions for the winter in jars. I share my recipe

Admin

We love pickled onions with the whole family. This delicious appetizer is very good with meat dishes, especially kebabs, it also goes very well with pickled herring or mackerel. Write down the recipe, it's very simple))))

Ingredients:

onion
salt
Bay leaf
black pepper
vinegar

For this recipe, I use medium-sized onions - they are the tastiest. Peel the onion. You do not need to cut it, we will marinate it whole. And then, when you open the jar, you can chop the onion any way you like.

Put the peeled onions in boiling salted water. Add 7-10 tablespoons of salt to one liter of water, depending on the size of the onions. If the onion is small, then 7 will be enough, if larger, then put 10. Cook the onion in salted water for 2-3 minutes, then put it in a saucepan with cold water with a slotted spoon.

While the onion is cooling, prepare the marinade. Attention: I indicate the ingredients for the marinade per liter of water! Consider this when calculating how much marinade you need.

So, pour 1 liter of water into a saucepan, add 10-12 black peppercorns, a few allspice peas, 5 bay leaves. Bring to a boil, cook for 3-4 minutes, add 2.5 tablespoons of vinegar 9% and remove from the stove.

Put the onion in the prepared jars and fill it with hot marinade. We sterilize jars: half-liter 10-13 minutes, liter - 15-20 minutes. After that, close the lids.

As soon as it cools down, we put the jars with pickled onions in a cool dark place for storage. Bon appetit, friends!
