This soup is straight from my childhood, because it passed in the wonderful country of Uzbekistan, I managed to taste a lot of delicious dishes in its original form, today we will talk about a delicious soup called "Mastava". This soup is easy to prepare and you will need absolutely not exotic, served with a fermented milk drink "katyk" in Russian kefir, but still our kefir is no match for this drink and therefore I recommend put sour cream.
Ingredients
- For 2.3 liters of water you will need:
- 300 grams of beef or lamb pulp, I used beef
- 130 gr onion
- 70 ml cottonseed oil, sunflower oil can
- 200 gr carrots
- 200 gr of tomatoes, put them, not pasta
- 100 gr red bell pepper
- 320 gr potatoes
- 150 gr rice
- 60 gr greens, original (basil, mint, dill, green onions)
- to taste Salt, pepper
Steps
Cut the meat and onion into 1cm cubes. Carrots 0.5 cm cubes, that is, everything should not be cut large.
In a cauldron or in a saucepan with a thick bottom, heat the oil, lay the meat and fry it, stirring from time to time, until golden brown.
Add onions and carrots and continue frying.
We cut tomatoes and bell peppers (I have blanks from the freezer) also into 0.5 cm cubes and add them to meat, onions and carrots. Fry lightly.
Pour 2.3 liters of warm or hot water into the fried meat and vegetables, bring to a boil.
Cut the potatoes into 0.5 cm cubes.
Put chopped potatoes and washed rice in a saucepan.
Cook over low heat for about 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, add salt and continue cooking for another 5 minutes until fully cooked.
Pour the finished mastava into a box or a plate, sprinkle with herbs and serve with a flatbread and sour cream.
