Today I will tell you about a simple way to determine whether the humidity level in the apartment is normal or not. To measure the level of humidity in a room, a special device is used - a hygrometer. But what if there is no such device? The answer is simple - you can measure the humidity level in half an hour., you only need water and a glass. I wrote about the importance of maintaining the optimal humidity level for our body in a previous article about air humidifiers. In a nutshell, the "correct" humidity level for a person (40-60% humidity) good for the respiratory system, skin, healthy sleep and more. Especially the desired humidity level must be maintained allergy sufferers and if there is a small child in the house.
So how do you check if the humidity in your apartment is normal? To do this, you need to pour into a glass of cold water, by about a third of a glass, and put it in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours, to cool up to 2-5 degrees. If you want to run the test faster, like me, then put ice cubes in the water and leave in the freezer, in this case
10-15 minutes will be enough. After the time has elapsed, remove the glass and place it away from batteries, heating objects and drafts for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, look at the inside of the glass above the water.
If the walls are dry - means you have dry air at home, and the humidity level is below normal. If there are large drops of condensate on the walls - the air in the room is too humid and the humidity level is above normal. If the walls of the glass are fogged up,but no drops - this means that in the apartment optimal humidity level. As you can see in the second photo, scroll to the right, the walls are fogged up only half, which means the air is a little dry, but close to normal. I conducted this experiment with my mother-in-law, but I have humidifiers in my apartment that keep the humidity normal. I liked the article - rate it with your thumb up and subscribe to the channel!
