Today I continue a series of articles dedicated to things that I really want to throw it down the toilet, but it's better not to do this, to avoid blockages. I will list three more things which, most likely, many readers flushed down the toilet. Personally, I used to wash some of them very often. Let's see what these things are.
1. Filler for the cat litter box. The most common type of filler - silica gel. Its particles can swell and stick together to form a blockage. The only kind of filler that can be washed off, and then only in small handfuls - it's woody, since it turns into dust on contact with water and will not cause clogging. I don't have a cat, but my friend recently got a severe blockage after washing out a whole tray of litter.
2.Paper towel. I used to flush paper towels down the toilet very often. There seems to be no difference between towels and toilet paper, but this is not the case at all - towels are much denser and dissolve much worse in water, especially if you crumple them. So be careful with them.
3. Hair from a comb. Hair itself is not a big threat, but they can get tangled up with other things thrown down the toilet, for example with the same swollen cat litter. In this case, the hair will significantly aggravate the situation. and the blockage will not be avoided.
