Well, dear comrades, in connection with the aggravation of the epidemiological situation, are we increasing the immunity with home remedies? Yesterday all day I remembered the phrase from the goblin translation of The Lord of the Rings: say no to vodka!
Did they say? If not, then it's time. Let's switch to healthy Vedic food! Of course, one should not hope that it will work a miracle, but it will help a little to support the strength of the body - especially after spring. A strong organism is the foundation of our health and longevity.
I hope I've already inspired you with optimism? If yes, let's go! Today, extremely simple dishes (and drinks), but at the same time - exclusively, in the opinion of fans of Vedic cooking, healthy.
I made a selection with ginger. Firstly, ginger is a delicious thing, and secondly - even five thousand years ago it was considered an effective remedy against colds, fever, tetanus and leprosy. King Henry VIII of England ate ginger as a prevention of plague. And indeed, he himself remained alive during a terrible epidemic.
Ginger contains:
• vitamins: C, B1, B2, A;
• all essential amino acids (not synthesized in the body);
• minerals: iron, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc.
In short, we eat ginger.
For starters, pickled.
Not very Vedic because of the vinegar, but tasty. Making it at home is as easy as two and two. I must say right away that you will not get it pink, even if you add beets, in order for the ginger to turn pink you need to take rice vinegar, as they say (although not sure).
We take
• Ginger - 0.5 kg
• Water - 4 stacks.
• Salt - 2 tsp. l.
• Sugar - 2 tbsp. l.
• Vinegar (9%) - 2 tbsp. l.
• A few slices of beetroot in the hope that the ginger turns pink correctly (but you can without them)
We clean the roots, slice with a vegetable peeler. Boil the first two glasses of water and salt. And fill it with our sliced ginger, let it cool (in this brine), drain. Boil the second half of the water with sugar, add vinegar and pour in ginger. Let it cool, send it in the refrigerator.
Don't want to mess around? Simply boil water with salt and sugar, pour in ginger, add vinegar and a cooled snack to the refrigerator. You can eat in a day. And the more, the better.
Then - we serve ginger sauce with all the food
Cooking:
• 3 hours l. grated ginger;
• 1 tbsp. l. honey;
• 30 ml of lemon juice;
• 60 ml. oils;
• Salt to taste or soy sauce.
We punch everything in a blender and go - not difficult, right?
Well, for dessert we serve real Vedic ginger tea.
Cooking: rub the peeled ginger on a coarse grater, fill with water at the rate of a liter of water, sodium salt spoons of grated ginger and cook all this for about 10-15 minutes. Serve hot. With sugar or honey - whatever you like. Can be with lemon.
For a better taste, you can use other spices (cinnamon. for example), or herbs, and any that you like in tea.
