I am, in general, an optimist, but one of those who reads not only the news. And if you believe the publications of ordinary, ordinary people, so to speak, and not the news, then the first euphoria "will sit out" among the people has passed, now more and more without enthusiasm they write - what will we eat during the wait?
Someone has a thicker financial half, someone is completely skinny, someone has kept their salary for now, and someone has remained without a penny at all. And in this regard, one recalls the hungry times of the nineties, when there are potatoes in the house - it means that they live well in the house.
From one potato, of course, nothing but boiled potatoes can be cooked, no matter how hard you try. Even to fry it requires oil. And if you add an egg and flour, you can hammer pancakes. Well, if a little, just a little - bacon, then... you can cook grandma.
Yes, a real grandmother.
We used to think of something sweet as a grandmother, soaked in syrup, with glaze, that is, dessert. But in fact, the grandmother can be a product made from salted dough, or, here, from potatoes. It comes from Belarus, and, as everyone is sure, Belarusians know a lot about potatoes.
It tastes very, very pleasant. On this occasion, there is even a legend, they say, Napoleon, who asked the drapak from Moscow, was served this dish, and when he asked how called, threw up their hands - they say, we cannot know, sovereign-emperor, some grandmother was privatized according to the laws of wartime for you feed!
Napoleon remembered the word "grandmother", and so it went, and so it went for a walk around the world (or its separate parts).
Well, okay, it won't take long for this fairy tale to tell itself; in this case, things are done much sooner. By deed I mean the preparation of this very grandmother.
We take:
750 grams of potatoes
A couple of tablespoons of butter
250-300 grams of bacon. I remember that in the crisis times of the nineties, instead of bacon, they added what God would send.
A couple of three onions
Salt, pepper and other seasonings to taste
How do we cook?
First, turn on the oven to preheat. Because we will need it on alert, immediately and quickly - there is no time to wait for it to heat up, when the grandmother is ready to plant it in the oven.
When the oven is almost warmed up, cut the bacon into cubes and begin to fry it. As it turns brown, add finely chopped onions into the pan.
We clean my potatoes, which goes without saying, and then rub on a coarse grater. Mix with onion and bacon, salt and pepper to taste, put in a mold, well greased with butter and set to bake for an hour.
It is better to serve it hot, dripping with sour cream or melted butter.
