Bean chowder with bacon

And tell me honestly, what does your imagination draw to you when you hear the word "soup"? I immediately see a large cast-iron vat hanging over the fire. Firewood crackles under the vat, fire dances, illuminating the dark forest around, owls hoot, and a brew smelling of smoke gurgles deliciously in the cauldron.

Well, or as dark as a forest, a hall, a hearth, and an oak table, at which, when the stew is ready, a large family or a kind company of friends, and, with a bite of aromatic bread, will clean up a delicious dish... Mmm... I already wanted to eat.

In general, you realized that today there will be a recipe for a chowder, which is very simple to make and, what is important now, with minimal costs

We need:

  • Bacon
  • White beans (canned)
  • Carrot
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Vegetable broth (ideally)
  • White bread

If you want a richer flavor, you can add red beans and some peas. But don't overdo it. White beans are enough for a dish

I cook such dishes in a cauldron, so I will write my own version

Fry bacon in vegetable oil. In parallel, we cut white bread and put in the oven so that it turns into crackers

You don't need to keep it for a long time, because it is optimal to fry the croutons a little more with bacon. Then they will have awesome taste.

We take it out of the cauldron, put it aside

Cut the carrots into half rings or quarters, put them in a cauldron. Onions and 2-3 cloves of garlic fly there. Fry, stir constantly

Beans, broth (or water), a little black pepper, add to the cauldron, mix and cook for 6-7 minutes

That's it, my friends.

Pour into plates, add bacon and croutons and enjoy the process of eating)
