5 awesome food movies I picked to watch on New Year's Eve.
During the New Year holidays, a huge amount of time is given out, which everyone spends in different ways. I'm going to cook new desserts and watch films about cooks in the evenings.
I have watched almost all the films, but they are so cool that I watch them with pleasure every year. I hope you enjoy them too.
Chef on Wheels (Chef)
2014, USA, comedy, family
The main character is the chef of a small restaurant, who is mired in a routine and has not created any new interesting dishes for a long time.
After a fight with the boss, he leaves the restaurant and decides to start his own business. In the absence of money, he buys an old kitchen on wheels and travels across the country.
I really love this movie and have watched it 3 or 4 times.
Chef (Comme un chef)
2012, France-Spain, comedy
A film about two chefs. Odin runs a posh restaurant and hosts a popular cooking show. The second cooks all his life according to the recipes of the first and, working in eateries, tries to create gourmet dishes.
A sweet story about how, after a chance meeting, both chiefs start working together and how their lives change.
Toast
2010, UK, drama, comedy
I myself have not yet had time to watch this film, but I put it in my selection, because after watching the trailer I really wanted to see it.
A story about a boy who dreams of learning how to cook from childhood. Difficulties do not stop him and he is gradually moving towards his goal.
Ratatouille
2007, USA, cartoon, family
A wonderful cartoon, the main character of which is a rat. By the way, it is very symbolic to start the year of the rat by watching a movie with a rat in the lead role.
The rat has a phenomenal sensitivity to odors and dreams of preparing complex dishes, but is engaged in checking food for the presence of rat poison in it. But everything changes when she gets into the kitchen of the restaurant.
Perfect for the whole family.
Chef Adam Jones (Burnt)
2015, USA-UK, drama, comedy
The story of chef Adam Jones, once a famous chef in Paris. But due to financial problems, Adam had to leave the country and for a long time he was engaged in cleaning oysters.
After a while, he moves to London and tries to regain his name and get a Michelin star for the restaurant.
I really liked the plot of the film. He teaches you to never give up and that you can always correct the mistakes of the past while you are alive.
Here's a selection of films I got. What films do you watch during the New Year holidays?
