A simple and delicious onion pie is a great option for every day of fasting. Lean Onion Pie is a budget dish of the most affordable foods. However, despite this, it comes out very tasty. Those who do not know that the cake is lean will never guess about it.
You get a lot of this cake - enough for the whole family. By the way, children also eat it with pleasure.
If you decide to fast, then be sure to take note of the recipe for this pie. Moreover, it is not at all difficult to prepare, but it turns out fluffy and tasty.
Ingredients:
- onions - 1 kg
- wheat flour - 650 g
- warm water - 350 ml
- vegetable oil - 100 ml
- pressed yeast - 30 g
- sugar - 2 tbsp. l.
- starch - 1 tbsp. l.
- salt - 1 tsp l.
Step by step recipe
1. First, knead the pie dough.
Pour warm water into a bowl, add salt, sugar and crumb yeast here.
Mix everything until sugar and yeast dissolve.
2. Pour sunflower oil into this mixture, add starch and about a third of the flour.
3. Mix everything and gradually add the rest of the flour.
Knead the dough until smooth for about 5 minutes.
4. Cover the bowl with the dough with cling film and put in a warm place so that the dough comes up one and a half to two times.
5. While the dough is coming up, prepare the filling.
Cut the whole onion into quarters into rings.
Fry chopped onions in sunflower oil until golden brown. If the onion does not fit in the pan, fry it several times.
6. Salt and pepper the cooled fried onions to taste. Mix everything well.
7. The dough has already come, we divide it into 6 parts: 5 are approximately the same, and the 6th part is slightly larger than the others.
8. First, roll out the largest piece of dough.
With a rolled sheet of dough, cover the bottom and sides of the baking dish. The size of my form is 30 * 22 cm.
9. Put one fifth of the prepared onion filling on the dough. Then thinly roll out the remaining pieces of dough with a rectangle and put a part of the onion filling on each of them.
So we collect all the onion pie.
10. On top of the cake, pinch the edges of the dough.
On top of the pie, grease a little with sunflower oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
11. We put the pie in a preheated oven to 180 degrees, bake for about 45 minutes.
12. Be sure to take the baked pie out of the mold and let it cool on a wooden board or wire rack.
The onion pie turned out to be soft, aromatic and very tasty. Be sure to cook it, it turns out a lot, but it is not difficult to do it and from the most budgetary products.
