I love donuts. Not donuts with icing and filling, but the most ordinary donuts fried in oil and sprinkled with powdered sugar. If I see a donut, I definitely go to try it. But lately donut ones seem to have disappeared.
Recently I was in Krasnoznamensk, this is a small town near Moscow. I found a donut in Yandex.Maps, the restaurant was marked very simply: “Hot donuts”. I decided to stop by and try local donuts.
Finding a place was not easy. I walked around the building several times before I noticed a small sign. Let's show you what a donut bar looks like.
The place is incredibly tiny, trading only through the window. At first I even changed my mind about buying something there, since this place does not inspire confidence from afar. But then I decided to take a portion of donuts for a sample.
When I came closer, I noticed that the interior was not very clean. It feels like I got to a roadside eatery 10-20 years ago. The wall under the counter is marked by cigarettes extinguished on it, and the smell of overcooked oil comes from the window.
In front of me is a girl, apparently a student, bought 2 servings of shawarma. While her order was being prepared, I was able to examine the interior of the “kitchen”. This is a sad sight.
The walls are soaked in oil, dust and dirt all around. It is hard to see in the photo, but I was ashamed to get inside the camera. Took a serving of 5 donuts and left.
After all I saw, I didn't want to try donuts. Just in case, I decided to check the reviews on the page in Yandex.maps. And here I was really surprised.
It turns out, according to the institution, they "treat cleanliness with real fanaticism." Now take a look at what is visible through the window. Perhaps the owner has his own idea of cleanliness. Let's show you what the donuts you bought look like.
The donuts are large and not very flavorful. Sprinkled with powdered sugar on top. I got barely warm donuts, although the owner of the establishment claims that all products are prepared only to order.
While driving home, I decided to try it, and in vain. Donuts are cooked in old oil, you can really feel it. Perhaps it would taste better if they were hot. It's time to take stock.
I didn't like the place. The kitchen is unsanitary, but despite this, the establishment has customers, which surprised me a lot. The donuts turned out to be tasteless even in rancid butter. Hope my stomach can handle the donut I did taste.
Where did you taste delicious donuts?
