Here's a simple recipe for super quick apricot jam. Perfect when you want something sweet “right here and now”.
I love preserves, jams and marmalades and in the summer season I always prepare them for the year ahead. The preparation of such a long-term storage jam requires a lot of time and effort. But what if you wanted jam right here and now?
This jam is perfect for adding to porridge or you can simply spread it on bread and butter and eat it over a cup of tea. Well, and most importantly, this recipe does not require sterilizing jars and then washing mountains of dishes.
In this article, I will share an apricot jam, but you can easily use other berries or fruits, even frozen ones. I will not delay, let's cook!
Step-by-step recipe on how to make quick apricot jam
I wash the apricots thoroughly and wipe them dry.
The most ripe and juicy apricots are best suited. Slightly overripe, but not yet spoiled, can also be used.
I cut and remove the bone.
In place of the bone, I put 2 pieces of refined sugar. The amount of sugar can be varied depending on how you like it.
Then I squeeze the apricot so that the sugar is pressed into its pulp and soaked in the juice of the fruit.
I send it to the microwave for 2 minutes. Then I mix and taste. You can add some more sugar at this stage if you are not sweet.
Warm up for another 2 minutes in the microwave and can be served. Let's show what I did.
It turned out a little jam, but I don't need more for one time. Three apricots were enough for me exactly 2 medium-sized sandwiches.
And how do you prefer to make jam, a lot at once or a little at a time?
