I have always been wary of recipes for desserts that are cooked in the microwave. I thought that as a pastry chef I shouldn't get my hands dirty about them. But recently, while visiting, I saw a 4-year-old boy Kolya independently cook a chocolate cake in the microwave.
Later, Kolya's mother said that they were still preparing a soufflé with chocolate chips in the microwave. During cooking, the son is keen on the process and does everything himself. And most importantly, he does not have to wait for the result for several hours.
I decided to check these recipes and cook them at home. I will tell you my impressions of each dessert at the end.
Step-by-step recipe on how to make a chocolate muffin in the microwave
Ingredients
- Egg 1 pc
- Flour, sugar, cocoa, vegetable oil - all in 1 tablespoon
I send all the ingredients into a glass or jar and mix with a spoon until smooth. That's it, the dough is ready.
I put it in the microwave and turn it on at high power for 30 seconds. Then another 30 seconds and another 30 seconds. That is, only 3 times for 30 seconds. If you put it immediately for 1.5 minutes, the cake will "run away" from the can, as the dough rises a lot.
There is such a cake should be still hot. As it cools, it will become tasteless. I liked this variation of a quick dessert. Cupcake, of course, looks so-so, but it tastes very good.
A step-by-step recipe for how to cook soufflé in the microwave
Ingredients
- Protein 2 eggs
- Sugar 30 gr
- Chocolate 30 gr
Separate the protein from the eggs, add sugar and beat until firm peaks. Steady peaks are when the bowl can be turned over and the mass will not leak out.
I cut the chocolate into small pieces, add to the protein mass and mix with a spatula.
I spread the mass into 2 jars. I put it in the microwave and cook on high power for 30 seconds. Each portion is prepared separately.
But this dessert, unlike a cake, is better to let cool completely and only then serve. Before serving, you can sprinkle with a mixture of powdered sugar and cocoa or pour over melted chocolate.
The soufflé turned out to be tasty, the main thing is to wait until it cools. To be honest, I did not expect such a result.
Both of these desserts do not claim to be confectionery, but are definitely worth the time to prepare. By the way, in this case, very little of it is required.
