Maslenitsa week is in full swing now. On my channel, I have already shared 3 different pancake recipes. But if you are suddenly too lazy to cook, you can always buy pancakes in the store. Or follow them on holiday festivities.
I decided to go to the main square of Moscow. Knowing that after a working day there will most likely be a full house, I went to Red Square in the afternoon. So don't be alarmed that my photographs are so deserted. First, I propose to see how the square was decorated for the Maslenitsa festivities.
The main festivities were placed in front of the entrance to the Kremlin, on Manezhnaya Square. There are so many tents on display that even in the daytime, when there are few people, it is rather cramped to walk here. I'm afraid to imagine what will happen on the weekend. I specially came hungry to eat plenty of pancakes. Let's see what they offer there.
There are a lot of tents and not all of them sell pancakes. There are many themed craft shops. I liked wood crafts the most. While I walked around and looked at the windows, I got a good chill.
Therefore, I decided to warm up and refresh myself.I was amazed at the prices in several tents, I'll talk about them a little later. The cheapest pancakes were found next to a strange doll that someone decided to dress up in pancakes. It looks scary in my opinion.
I decided to start the tasting with the cheapest pancakes (49 rubles / piece). The pancake was baked especially for me, but it turned out to be very dry and literally crunched on my teeth.
To keep warm, I took the punch, which looked beautiful in the photo, but in fact turned out to be completely unsightly, and it tasted so-so. Just flip through the photos below.
You won't be full of pancakes, so I decided to try author's pancakes with the addition of bird cherry flour and bird cherry jam. Pancake is baked in front of you in just 20-30 seconds. The speed is good, but the taste did not work out.
In my pancake, grains of poorly ground bird cherry were clearly felt. For such a pancake they ask 150 rubles. Overall delicious, but I didn't like the crunch on my teeth. Both pancakes are thin and you can't eat them, so I decided on one more.
This time, the choice fell on a “pancake from the chef” from the group of companies Arkady Novikov. It turned out to be the most expensive of all that I ate - 250 rubles. An interesting point is that this pancake was prepared in advance and was only warmed up in my presence. It would be fine, but the taste did not surprise me. More like khachapuri than pancake. I was still hungry and went to watch pancakes in other tents.
The prices are more or less the same everywhere, but when I saw a Parisian pancake for 1500 rubles, my appetite disappeared. Of course, many will say that this is a pancake with black caviar, but I would rather eat such a pancake somewhere in a restaurant to enjoy the taste of caviar. And here it's just money down the drain. It's time to summarize.
After visiting Shrovetide on Red Square, I realized that it was worth going here with children (or better yet with money) for impressions. Here you will find mummers who are photographed with everyone in a row, and various master classes. But the pancakes are tight.
Of course, you can eat one or the other for a snack, but it's better to cook a pile of pancakes at home. Invite your loved ones and enjoy pancakes for the year ahead. And if you don't know what to cook, then you are welcome to my blog, I have some great recipes for you.
