Many of us like to taste pea soup or soups made from various vegetables with croutons, especially garlic, and more often they buy such a product in the store, but you can create them in a frying pan at home and it will cost where cheaper. In addition, you will know exactly what this bakery product is made of.
When preparing garlic croutons, remember that the pan must be very hot before placing the sliced bread, otherwise you will not get a crispy crust.
You can create an appetizer in several ways: first fry the sliced bread and then mix it with garlic oil, or, conversely, oil the slices of bread and then fry in a pan.
Ingredients:
Black rye bread - 4 slices
Garlic - 4 cloves
Vegetable oil - 30 ml
Salt to taste
Preparation:
1. For those who like croutons with a spicier taste, we advise you to take at least 5-6 cloves of garlic, since with the above amount the dish turns out to be of a piquant taste, not too bitter. Peel the garlic cloves and rinse immediately in water, press them into a deep bowl, bowl, plate. Add a couple of pinches of salt and vegetable oil. It is permissible to use cold-pressed olive, refined sunflower, corn, etc., but the main thing is that it must be odorless so that it does not interrupt the garlic aroma. Stir gently and let sit for 10-15 minutes to fill the oil with the garlic aroma.
2. At this time, cut slices of black or rye bread into long strips, and then cut each of them into cubes. It is advisable to purchase sliced bread so that the croutons are smoother and more attractive in appearance.
3. Transfer the bread slices to a deep container and pour the prepared butter over it, add the garlic cake. Stir gently and quickly and drain off any remaining mixture. Never leave the bread in oil until the pan is heated, otherwise it will absorb it into itself and you will not get crunchy croutons.
4. Preheat a skillet and place the slices of bread in oil on it, fry for about 1-2 minutes until golden brown, stirring to brown evenly.
5. Place the garlic croutons on a plate or dish of parchment paper.
In a warm state, they will not crunch - they need to be allowed to cool, but even so they are very tasty and fragrant! Taste the created dish yourself or offer it to your family for soup or borscht.
