Ingredients:

Pork - 500 g

Kefir - 200 ml

Onions - 2 pcs.

Tomatoes - 3 pcs.

Vegetable oil - 20 ml

Greens - 20 g

Salt, black pepper - to taste

Step by step recipe:

Step 1 - Those who decide to organize an impromptu picnic at home, stock up on a good piece of meat, kefir (or yogurt, sour cream, natural yogurt). The fat content of a fermented milk product is not of fundamental importance. For variety and bright colors, add, for example, onions and fleshy tomatoes - they make the meat on a skewer even more appetizing.

Step 2 - Wash the pork leg or other part of the carcass with fat layers in cold water, wipe it with a paper towel and cut into cubes of the same size (about 3x3x3 cm).

Step 3 - Dip the meat into a non-oxidizing bowl. Fill with kefir so as to completely cover the meat pieces. Throw in black pepper. Peas or chopped - at your discretion. Add a few branches of fresh parsley and dill. Salt generously.

Step 4 - Chop the peeled onions into rings and put them in kefir with the meat. Stir gently and marinate on a refrigerator shelf for at least 30 minutes under a lid or cling film. Can be kept cold for 3 hours or longer.

Step 5 - Preheat the oven to the maximum temperature. At the same time we string meat, onion and tomato rings on wooden or metal skewers. We place semi-finished products over a refractory mold or a pallet, leaning on the board. Pour about 150 ml of boiling water into the container itself. Steaming from below, the kebab will receive additional juiciness. Sprinkle the meat on top with a small amount of vegetable oil. We bake at a temperature of 200 degrees for about 15-20 minutes, turn over once. To brown the crust more, hold for 2-3 minutes under the grill / top heat of the oven.

Step 6 - Juicy pork kefir shashlik is ready - serve it hot, for example, with some delicious sauce, fresh vegetables and herbs. Bon Appetit!
