It would seem that such a simple dish as fried potatoes with onions in a pan should be able to cook everything without exception, but what if you are a teenager or a bachelor and you have to cook rarely? Let's try to help you, because even this dish has its own little secrets and subtleties in preparation.
You can serve fried potatoes with absolutely any meat or fish dish, very tasty with homemade pickles or with fresh vegetables. And it’s just an irreplaceable high-calorie side dish with a glass of ice.
Ingredients:
Potatoes - 400 g
Bulb onions - 0.5 pcs.
Refined sunflower oil - 4 tbsp.
Garlic - 1 clove
Parsley - 3-4 branches
Sea salt - to taste
Ground pepper - to taste
Preparation:
1. Prepare foods from the list. Peel potatoes and onions, wash, dry thoroughly with paper towels. The potato tubers must be completely dry before cooking, as we will be dipping them in hot oil.
2. The fastest way to cook potatoes is cut into strips, so we cut them accordingly.
3. Cut the onions in half rings, so it looks more aesthetically pleasing in the finished dish and cooks better, while diced, it can burn even over low heat.
4. We put the pan on the stove, heat up the oil, put the potato straws in it. As soon as the potatoes start to brown, turn the heat under the pan quieter. Stir constantly, cook for ten minutes.
5. Pierce one straw with a knife, if it is already slightly soft, then you can add onions. Continue cooking over low heat, stirring the vegetables constantly, for another 5-7 minutes.
6. When the onion becomes soft and transparent, salt the potatoes with sea salt, pepper to taste, stir.
7. Use the knife to pierce the potato strips again; it should be completely cooked by now. Crush a clove of garlic for flavor, add it to the pan, stir, and hold for another minute. Add the chopped parsley last, stir the dish again, turn off the stove and remove the pan from it.
8. The beauty of fried potatoes with onions is that they can be served directly in the skillet in which they were fried. Enjoy!
