In the new harvest season, apples and plums are especially fragrant, tasty and healthy. I propose to quench your thirst with a rich homemade compote on hot summer days - to please both adults and children, especially since cooking is simple and takes a little time.

The concentration is often changed: plums and apples compote can be either dark, with a rich and expressive aroma, or transparent, delicate and light. The same goes for sweetness. If the fruits turned out to be sufficiently sweet, ripe, the amount of sugar is reduced and vice versa - it depends on the variety, maturity, watering and sunny days in a particular region / garden / vegetable garden.

Ingredients:

Water - 1000 ml

Apples - 2 pcs.

Plums - 5 pcs.

Sugar - 50 g

Step by step recipe:

Step 1 - Take the listed products. If desired, sugar is replaced with honey - added at the very end to an already finished drink, not boiled in order to preserve an arsenal of useful substances. In my recipe, the concentration is quite high, apples and plums are large, ripe, very juicy and sweet. If you love spices, the flavor of a Christmas pattern - throw in cinnamon, cardamom or anise, dried fruit.

Step 2 - In fact, there are no secrets in the recipe for fruit compote. We put a container with 1 liter (more or less at your discretion) of water on the upper fire, bring it to an active boil. Parallel to my fruits. To quickly saturate the liquid with juices and aromas, cut the plums into slices or halves. Remove the bones. If you are lazy, leave it intact.

Step 3 - Cut the apples in a similar way. Instead of slices, you can chop them into cubes, bars, as you are accustomed and convenient.

Step 4 - Dip the fruit slices into the already boiled water, boil again, reduce the temperature and cook under the lid for about 15-20 minutes.

Step 5 - Pour in granulated sugar, let it boil again, taste and boil for 3 minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved. Add more sugar if necessary. For those who decide to sweeten it with honey, I advise you to remove the compote from the heat, pour in the desired portion of honey and just stir.

Step 6 - Insist the plum and apple compote under a lid for 10-15 minutes, filter through a fine sieve to remove the pulp. Cool it down.

Step 7 - Serve the seasonal plum and apple compote to the table on your own or with a bite of pastries - warm or chilled to choose from.
