What makes the summer season so wonderful is that there are always various berries and fruits on the table, from which you can easily make an assorted compote. This aromatic and tasty drink will appeal to all family and friends, especially when served chilled with ice cubes, because, as a rule, it is very hot in summer.

You can decorate the compote with fresh mint leaves or add them during cooking - experiment and fantasize! Those who do not use granulated sugar can be advised to replace it with honey, but such a sweet product is added to a ready-made drink that has cooled down to 35 degrees, since it cannot be heated!

Apples - 3 pcs.

Peach - 2 pcs.

Rinse the fruit thoroughly in water, be sure to wipe off the upper fleecy layer from the peaches. Cut the apples into quarters and cut the seeds, cut into slices directly into the saucepan in which you are going to cook the compote. Cut the plums in half and remove the seeds, cut into slices into a container. Do the same for the peaches, adding them to the rest of the fruit cuts.

Separate the grapes from the bunch, remove the cuttings from the cherries, rinse and pour into a container. If desired, you can use both fresh and frozen berries without defrosting them, the main thing is to increase the preparation time of the drink by 5-7 minutes.

Pour in granulated sugar, pour in lemon juice (fresh or concentrated diluted) - it will add a slight sourness to the drink and neutralize the sweetness of the fruit. You can replace lemon juice with citric acid. At the same stage, it is permissible to add a little vanilla sugar or ground cinnamon.

Pour in hot water, leaving some room on top of the container to boil so the foam doesn't splash over the edges of the pot.

Place the container on the stove and bring the contents to a boil using maximum heat. Then reduce the heat to minimum and simmer the compote on the stove for about 10 minutes, until the fruit slices and berries sink to the bottom, giving the liquid their taste and color.

Turn off the heat and let the drink cool at room temperature to 35 degrees. It is at this point that you can add honey, replacing sugar with it.
