Candied orange peels

Ingredients: orange peels (from 5 medium oranges), salt, sugar, water, lemon juice

Cooking method:

Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Rinse the peels well, pour over with boiling water.

Cut the peel into thin strips. Put in a saucepan, add 1 tsp. salt. Boil after boiling for 7-10 minutes.

Drain the water, rinse the crusts with cold water. Repeat the boiling and rinsing operation two more times. This is done in order to remove the bitterness that is contained in the white layer of the peel.

For the syrup, combine sugar and water and bring to a boil. Put peels into boiling syrup, cook until the liquid has completely evaporated. I cooked for about 1 hour.

At the end of cooking, pour in lemon juice, mix. Put candied fruits on parchment. Dry in an oven at 70-80°C or in a fruit dryer. I dried it indoors. Dried out in two days.

Ready candied fruits bend and do not stick to hands. Bon Appetit!!!
