This recipe is sure to please lovers of Asian-style pork. Pineapples add sweetness, tomato sauce and wine vinegar add sourness, and hot peppers add zest. This favorite dish is most often enjoyed in a Chinese bistro, but a simplified version of it can be easily prepared at home. Try it, it's simple, fast enough and incredibly tasty.
Ingredients:
Pork neck - 400 g
Canned pineapple - 150 g
Hot pepper - to taste
Salt - optional
Ground black pepper - to taste
Tomato sauce - 3 tablespoons
Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
Brown sugar - 1 tsp
White or red wine vinegar - 1 tbsp.
Lean oil - 1 tablespoon
Preparation:
1. To cook pork with pineapple in sweet and sour sauce, prepare all the ingredients on the list. Pork flesh with thin greasy layers is best for this dish. I like the neck better, it turns out juicier when cooked and cooks faster. Wash the meat under running water, dry it dry. The easiest way to do this is with kitchen paper towels.
2. Heat quite a bit of refined vegetable oil in a frying pan, do not forget that during frying, its own fat will still be released from the pork, in which it will cook. Cut the pork neck into thin slices or small cubes. Fry for 4-5 minutes, until a beautiful, golden brown crust.
3. Add canned pineapple to the fried meat. Fry it together with pork for 5 minutes, but no longer.
4. In a deep bowl, combine the tomato sauce, wine vinegar, soy sauce, and sugar. Pour in some water (or pineapple syrup), stir until smooth.
5. Pour the mixture into a skillet, add hot peppers to taste, and turn the heat to medium or even low. Cook for 5 minutes. During this time, the sauce will thicken, taste it, add a little more soy sauce or salt to taste, if necessary, pepper.
6. Divide the meat into portions and serve as a separate dish.
As a side dish, pork cooked with pineapple in sweet and sour sauce is most delicious, served with boiled rice.
