Potatoes baked with mayonnaise and garlic are a delicious everyday dish that goes well with meat, meat products and is suitable for self-serving. The potatoes are saturated with an appetizing garlic aroma and, steamed until tender, resembles gratin.
Ingredients:
Potatoes - 1000 g
Mayonnaise - 150 g
Garlic - 2 teeth + 1 pc.
Vegetable oil - 20 g
Salt, black pepper, herbs - to taste
Step by step recipe:
Step 1 - To bake garlic potatoes in mayonnaise in the oven, take the foods listed. It is prepared both with purchased mayonnaise and with homemade, for example, prepared according to this recipe. In such a thick consistency and natural composition. Young potatoes do not need to be peeled, but washed thoroughly with a hard sponge. Add more hot peppers, if desired, and season with strong-smelling herbs or turmeric (curry).
Step 2 - Chop the peeled potato tubers into thin circles, about 2 mm thick. Too coarsely chopped potatoes do not have time to soften completely and remain firm in places, which spoils the dish. Use a food processor with an appropriate attachment, a hand grater for shredding vegetables, or cut carefully with a knife. There is nothing difficult about this.
Step 3 - Salt, pepper. Pass one or two garlic prongs through a press or chop finely and finely with a knife and, together with a pinch of chopped fresh parsley (dill), mix the potato pieces. Pay attention to the taste of the selected mayonnaise, you may need less or more salt and ground pepper.
Step 4 - Add a portion of mayonnaise and again, turning all the potato layers from bottom to top, stir. It is necessary to cover literally every plate of potatoes with mayonnaise film.
Step 5 - From the inside, cover the heat-resistant form with vegetable or butter. We load potatoes in mayonnaise, ram a little and level over the entire area.
Step 6 - We easily cut one unpeeled head of garlic in half and put it on the potatoes. Cover with a sheet of foil or pack in a baking sleeve and send it to a pre-heated oven for 45-55 minutes, bake at 180 degrees. From time to time we check the readiness by puncturing it with a skewer. Open the most delicate potatoes (remove the foil) and dry for a couple of minutes.
Step 7 - Serve hot potatoes with garlic and mayonnaise, with fresh herbs, vegetables or pickles.
