Whole baked carp, and even with a potato side dish, deserves to be gathered at the table with the whole family or a friendly company. We cook a hearty, appetizing, really tasty dish of weighty fish and potatoes on a baking sheet at the same time.

Ingredients:

Carp - 800 g

Potatoes - 600 g

Tomatoes - 2 pcs.

Garlic - 5 teeth.

Onions - 1 pc.

Lemon - 0.5 pcs.

Vegetable oil - 40 ml

Salt, hot peppers, herbs - to taste

Step by step recipe:

Step 1 - To bake carp in the oven with potatoes, take the foods listed. The oil is lean and better refined, with a neutral odor. For bright colors, add seasonal tomatoes and red onions to the potatoes. The main flavor is garlic, lemon zest and black pepper. If necessary, use your favorite fish mixtures, herbs. In addition to the foods listed, keep a large tray or baking tray and foil on hand.

Step 2 - We clean the fresh carp from the scales, gut it, remove the gills (if we don’t cut off the head), rinse thoroughly with cold water. Wipe with a napkin. With a knife on one side of the fish we make cuts. Salt and pepper, including the abdominal cavity. Stuff with onion rings and garlic cloves.

Step 3 - Cut the peeled potato tubers into short sticks and not too thick so as to steam well and not leave them firm. Mix with salt, pepper, lemon zest and vegetable oil.

Step 4 - On a baking sheet covered with a sheet of foil, first place the seasoned and oiled potatoes - evenly distribute over the entire surface.

Step 5 - As a tasty and colorful addition, lay out tomato mugs, purple onions, scatter pieces of garlic.

Step 6 - Put our carp on top of the vegetables. If desired, lay lemon slices in the holes of the head. Cover the fish and potatoes with foil. Do not press down (I recommend greasing the foil from the inside with vegetable oil, otherwise the carp will stick). We bake for about 45-50 minutes at 180 degrees. Do not forget to preheat the oven.

Step 7 - Carefully transfer the delicious whole carp with potatoes to a clean plate, decorate with fresh herbs at random and serve with lemon to the table.
