Rabbit meat is very tender and tasty, and also low in calories. It is often used for baby or diet food. But like any other meat, it can be easily spoiled. And today I will tell you how to cook a rabbit so that it just “melts in your mouth”.
Ingredients:
Rabbit meat (any of its parts) - 600 g.
Bulb onions - 1 pc.
Salt to taste
Ground black pepper - to taste
Seasoning for meat - 1 tbsp.
Vegetable oil - 3 tablespoons
Sour cream - 4 tablespoons
Garlic - 1 clove
Water - 50 ml.
Step by step recipe:
1. To cook a rabbit in sour cream in the oven, prepare the necessary foods according to the list.
2. Divide the carcass into portions and wash well in cold water. Dip the moisture on a paper towel. Sprinkle with salt, black pepper and seasoning. Massage the spices into the meat. Leave it at room temperature for 20 minutes. If you don't plan on cooking right away, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator. The longer the meat is saturated with spices, the tastier the dish will turn out.
3. Pour oil into a skillet and set over high heat. Heat well and lay out the meat.
4. Fry it until a nice golden brown on all sides. This should be done quickly and at high temperatures. The main thing is that all meat juices remain inside. Our goal at this stage is not to cook, but to “seal” the meat.
5. Put the fried pieces in a heat-resistant dish, cauldron or clay pot. The main thing is that the dishes are suitable for baking in the oven.
6. Cut the peeled onions into rings and place on top of the meat.
7. Separately in a bowl combine water, sour cream and garlic squeezed through a press. Stir to make a smooth sauce. Add some salt.
8. Pour the sour cream sauce over the meat. Cover the form with a lid or tighten with foil and send to the oven.
9. Bake for about 1-1.5 hours, until rabbit is tender. Open the lid 20 minutes before tenderness and let the meat brown a little.
10. That's all. The most delicate rabbit baked in sour cream is ready.
