Meatballs are dearly loved in many families around the world, only outside our country they are called “mitballs”. This is a hearty meat dish that goes well with almost all side dishes.
Today we will cook meatballs with buckwheat and minced meat, which can be served to the family for lunch or dinner as an independent hot dish, and as an addition to them, there can be a salad of fresh vegetables.
Ingredients:
Minced beef - 500 g
Buckwheat - 1 glass
Large onions - 1 pc.
Carrots - 1 pc.
Tomato sauce - 5 tablespoons
Salt to taste
Ground pepper - to taste
Sugar - optional
Lean oil - 3 tablespoons
Chicken egg - 1-2 pcs.
Flour (optional) - 3 tablespoons
How to cook:
1. We will prepare all the products necessary for making minced meatballs. Peel and wash onions and carrots.
2. Rinse buckwheat several times to clean water. Pour the cereal with cold water in a 1 to 3 ratio, put on high heat. When it boils, reduce the heat to medium and cook buckwheat for about 15 minutes, until it is completely cooked and the water boils away. Cool the prepared porridge.
3. Put the minced meat in a large deep bowl (it can be from absolutely any type of meat), add cooled boiled buckwheat to it, very finely chopped half of the onion, sea salt and pepper taste. An egg, if it is small, then you will need one more, and if it is selected, then one will be enough. Drive it / them into the minced meat, mix everything well.
4. Cover the prepared minced meat on meatballs with a kitchen towel or cling film and let it stand for 15-20 minutes before cooking, it should ripen a little.
5. Use wet hands to form round balls of minced meat of the desired size, if desired, roll each of them in flour. Heat a little odorless vegetable oil in a frying pan, fry the semi-finished products from all sides until golden brown.
6. Transfer the sautéed meatballs to a convenient baking dish.
7. In parallel, we will prepare the sauce-filling. Cut the remaining half of the onion into small cubes, rub the carrots on a coarse grater. Fry vegetables in a small amount of vegetable oil for 3-4 minutes. Dilute your favorite tomato sauce in 1.5 glasses of water, pour it into a pan and cook over medium heat for another 3-4 minutes. Salt and pepper the sauce to taste, you can add a little sugar if it turns out sour.
8. Fill our meatballs with tomato sauce and send the form with them into an oven preheated to 180 degrees in the top and bottom heating mode for 25-30 minutes.
Put the finished meatballs with buckwheat on plates, pour over them with sauce and serve as an independent dish or with your favorite side dish. They go well with pasta, rice or mashed potatoes.
