American pancakes - pancakes - are distinguished by a velvety surface, because they are baked, or rather, dried, in a hot frying pan without adding fat. They are often served in a stack of berries, maple syrup, honey, sour cream, all kinds of sweet sauces, like thin pancakes and pancakes. If you are tired of oatmeal in the morning, take note of this simple recipe for oatmeal pancakes - healthy baked goods for breakfast and snacks.
Ingredients:
Oat flour - 8 tbsp. l.
Wheat flour - 2 tbsp. l.
Egg - 1 pc.
Kefir - 200 ml
Sugar - 2 tsp l.
Baking powder - 0.5 tsp l.
Step by step recipe:
Step 1 - To bake oatmeal pancakes at home, take the foods listed. The dough is kneaded both with milk and with kefir or other fermented milk base. Optionally, flavored with ground spices, and also throw in a pinch of salt. Oatmeal can be purchased on purpose or you can grind oatmeal in a grinder or meat grinder. For a coarser texture, flour is mixed either with coarse grinding or with whole plates / flakes of rolled oats. Sometimes a spoonful of vegetable oil is poured into the dough - there is not a drop of fat in my recipe.
Step 2 - Beat the granulated sugar with an egg in intense circular movements - just shake the egg white and yolk until smooth. We work with a whisk or fork.
Step 3 - Pour in kefir or milk at room temperature, add a portion of baking powder and continue whisking quickly. Dissolve the baking powder well, leaving no dry lumps.
Step 4 - Now we introduce two types of flour: oat flour and some wheat flour. For eight tablespoons of oatmeal, take two wheat. Thanks to the latter, pancakes will become softer and tastier; without it, a bitter taste is possible.
Step 5 - Knead the viscous and thick oatmeal dough for pancakes. In appearance, the consistency of porridge-smear. By the way, if there are remnants of oatmeal porridge, feel free to put them into the dough.
Step 6 - Preheat the pan on maximum heat, lower the temperature to moderate and spread the dough on a hot surface without oil. Gently smear circles with a diameter of about 12 cm, dry until holes appear on the upper side. Turn over and blush from the reverse side.
We serve warm oatmeal pancakes under a layer of powder with sour cream or jam.
