Rice porridge with milk and raisins

Breakfast, traditional for many families - milk porridge - is varied with dried fruits. Even a handful of the most common raisins will add health, sweetness and refreshment to milk-cooked rice. Follow the process without leaving the stove, then the rice porridge will surprise you with its delicate texture and balanced taste.

Ingredients:

Milk - 700 ml

Rice - 100 g

Raisins - 50 g

Sugar - 30 g

Salt - 3 g

Butter - 30 g

Step by step recipe:

Step 1 - To make rice porridge in milk with raisins at home, take the foods on the list. If the rice is previously left in water (for several hours or even overnight), then the time for cooking the dish itself will take a minimum. The grains will already be filled with moisture, swell, you just need to combine all the products, bring the milk to a boil and boil for a couple of minutes. Below is a step by step recipe for cooking porridge without soaking rice.

Step 2 - We send milk to the overhead fire. Maintain a high temperature and heat it up. Immediately immerse a portion of pre-washed rice cereal. For porridge with milk, choose white rice. Starchy ones, for example, create a silky texture.

Step 3 - Stir often and bring to an active boil, reduce heat and continue to cook under a thrown lid while continuously bubbling. Sometimes we run in a circle with a spoon or spatula to separate the grains adhering to the walls or bottom (we do not let it burn and spoil the dish with unpleasant bitterness).

Step 4 - After 10-15 minutes, check the groats for softness, try them on the tooth. Season with salt and granulated sugar - without spices, rice boils faster. If you decide to replace sugar with honey, then at this stage add a pinch of salt, and pour the honey into the porridge already cooked and removed from the fire. Ground spices such as cinnamon, anise, vanilla are also sometimes introduced.

Step 5 - Rinse the raisins or other dried fruits (dried apricots, prunes, sun-dried berries or figs) under a running stream, load into an almost finished dish. We cook the last 5-7 minutes - the raisins are also filled with moisture and swell, becoming more fleshy and sweet.

Step 6 - Remove the dish from the stove, throw in a piece of high-quality butter, stir it and then pour it into plates.

We serve milk rice porridge with hot raisins for breakfast or afternoon tea.
