Potatoes steamed in milk cream are a simple and at the same time royal in taste, delicate aroma and tenderness side dish. Serve with fresh vegetables, poultry, fish and any meats.

Ingredients:

Potatoes - 700 g

Milk cream 10% - 180 ml

Butter - 40 g

Garlic - 3 teeth.

Salt, hot pepper - to taste

Greens - for serving

Step by step recipe:

Step 1 - To cook potatoes in cream in the oven, take the foods on the list. In the season of young potatoes, the tubers do not need to be peeled, but washed thoroughly enough by wiping off the rest of the soil with a hard sponge. By replacing cream with milk, the result will be different, keep this in mind. Cream, even 10%, gives a special sweetness and tenderness. For the sake of a unique creamy aroma, I advise you not to overdo it with spices, give preference to moderate dosages.

Step 2 - Wash potatoes with cold water, dry, peel. Then we cut into cubes of the same size: the edge is about 2 cm. Since the cream evaporates rather quickly and we do not dilute with water, we maintain the concentration, the vegetables should have time to soften - we cut it not very coarsely.

Step 3 - Sprinkle the potato slices with salt and ground black pepper. Add chopped or pressed garlic. Stir, seasoning each piece.

Step 4 - Place the spiced potatoes in an ovenproof container. Fill the entire form evenly. For greater tenderness, additionally lay out the butter. It is also convenient to prepare this dish in a pot with a lid.

Step 5 - Pour freshly boiled cream almost to the top. The dish is easy to complicate: add cubes of chicken fillet or some meat, vegetables (tomatoes, zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower), champignons to the potatoes and pour gratin-like cheese on top.

Step 6 - Cover with a sheet of foil or wet compressed parchment. Then on a baking sheet we put the form with potatoes and cream in the oven (preheat to maximum). We warm up the first 10 minutes at 200 degrees, then lower the temperature to 180 degrees and simmer for another 25-30 minutes. If desired, brown until charred for the last couple of minutes.

Serve hot potatoes baked in cream with fresh herbs, alone or with a vegetable / meat addition.
