These puff pastry boats are very easy to prepare and you can experiment with the filling. For example, prepare a lean version by replacing meat with mushrooms. When frying meat, be it chicken fillet, pork or minced meat, you can add a little tomato paste or add slices of pickled cucumber when forming pies. Then there will be a slight sourness in baked goods. Delicious experiments!

Ingredients:

Potatoes - 350 gr.

Bulb onions - 1 pc.

Puff pastry - 500 gr.

Chicken fillet - 250 gr.

Hard cheese - 120 gr.

Egg yolk - 1 pc.

Vegetable oil - 50 ml.

Salt and spices to taste

Step by step recipe:

Step 1 - Prepare the required ingredients according to the list. We take out the puff pastry from the freezer 1 hour before baking.

Step 2 - Rinse the chicken fillet, dry it with a paper towel. We cut it first into strips, then into small cubes.

Step 3 - Peel and rinse the onions, chop finely.

Step 4 - Put the pan over medium heat and heat the vegetable oil. Fry the chicken fillet with frequent stirring until it changes color. This takes 5-6 minutes.

Step 5 - Add the onion to the chicken, continue to fry for a few more minutes. At the end of cooking, salt and sprinkle with spices to taste, I added dried basil.

Step 6 - Boil potatoes in salted water until tender, peeled and cut into wedges. We drain the water, knead the slices, try not to leave large pieces.

Step 7 - Cut each layer of puff pastry into 4-6-8 pieces. Depending on how many parts you divide into, the size of the finished baked goods will depend. With the addition of a small amount of flour, roll each piece into a square. We make internal cuts on both sides, stepping back 1 centimeter from the edge.

Step 8 - Spread a tablespoon of potatoes and a little meat filling on top of the dough. We overlap the edges of the dough so that the cuts are in the middle of the filling.

Step 9 - We pinch the opposite ends of the dough so as to give the patties the look of boats.

Step 10 - Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Cover the baking sheet with baking paper. We put raw boat pies at a short distance from each other. Lubricate them around the edges with yolk.

Step 11 - Three cheese on a medium grater. We spread the resulting shavings on top of the filling in our boats and set to bake.

Step 12 - After 20-25 minutes, when the puffs are brown, remove from the oven. Cool slightly before serving.

Puff pastry boats with chicken and potatoes are ready. We serve them simply with tea as a snack or with meat broth.
