Baking does not necessarily take all the strength of the culinary specialist, because in the process of cooking it you can cheat a little and use purchased products, for example, puff pastry. It is sold in any convenience store, is inexpensive and you do not have to spend an entire day preparing it. Puff pastry pies are tasty, appetizing and quite satisfying. Such baked goods are relevant not only as snacks at home and at work, but also for travel, because the shelf life of the puffs is 2 days, but it is advisable to cool them before leaving.
Ingredients:
Puff pastry - 200 g
Meat pate - 150 g
Yolk - 1 pc.
Salt and pepper to taste
Wheat flour for rolling
Preparation:
1. To bake meat puff pastry from ready-made dough, prepare the required foods. Instead of the proposed meat paste, you can use boiled meat as a filling, but not beef, since it will turn out to be dryish from it.
2. Puff pastry is sold frozen, defrost it at room temperature for about 1 hour. If you use a small part of the semi-finished product, then just cut it off, place the rest of the piece in the freezer for storage and further preparation of other delicious pastries.
3. Roll the dough on a work surface into a rectangular layer, sprinkle it with a little wheat flour. Cut into squares about 10 cm sides.
4. Put 1.5 tablespoons in the middle of each square. meat filling. Brush the edges of the dough with water.
5. Fold them diagonally and seal the edges, trying to do it as tightly as possible, otherwise the pies will open when baking.
6. Put the blanks on parchment paper on a baking sheet - you do not need to grease with anything, since the puff pastry already contains a large amount of fat. But be sure to grease the future puffs with chicken yolk so that they turn out to be ruddy and appetizing. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
7. Bake for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown, remembering that the filling inside the pies is ready. Turn off the oven and remove the pastries from it, let it cool slightly.
8. Serve the puff pastry with meat to the table warm, sprinkle with chopped herbs.
They are especially tasty with sauces or sour cream of any fat content, ketchup.
