Buns without milk from yeast dough

Many people think that dairy products should be used to prepare fluffy and soft baked goods. But this is not the case. And today I will prove the opposite by presenting to your attention an amazing recipe for buns made from yeast dough in water, that is, without milk.

Ingredients:

Water - 200 ml.

Salt - ½ tsp

Sugar - 3 tablespoons

Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons

Egg - 1 pc. (+ 1 pc. for greasing baked goods)

Dry yeast - 1.5 tsp

Flour - 350 g.

For Streisel:

Sugar - 1 tbsp. l.

Butter - 1 tbsp l.

Flour - 3 tbsp. l.

Step by step recipe:

1. To make dairy-free buns, prepare the food listed for the recipe. Sift the wheat flour a couple of times through a fine sieve to oxygenate. All ingredients used to knead the dough should be at room temperature.

2. Pour warm water into a suitable container with high sides. Add 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar and dry yeast. Stir and leave in a warm place for 10-15 minutes.

3. If a foam cap appears on the surface, everything goes according to plan. Our yeast "came to life" and we can continue. If not, we prepare the dough again, otherwise fluffy buns will not work. Beat the egg into a bowl, add the remaining sugar, salt and vegetable oil. Mix thoroughly with a whisk.

4. Add sifted flour in portions to the liquid mass. Its quantity may differ slightly from the indicated one, it will depend on the quality and brand of the product.

5. First stir the contents of the bowl with a whisk, and when all the flour is moistened, transfer the dough to the table and continue kneading with your hands. It should become smooth and smooth. Gather the dough into a ball and leave in a warm place, covering the bowl with a towel for 1-1.5 hours.

6. During this time, the yeast ball will noticeably increase in volume.

7. Crumple it up and divide it into 10-11 equal parts. Roll a small ball from each piece of dough and place in an ovenproof dish. If the container does not have a non-stick coating, it is better to grease it with butter or vegetable oil. Using a silicone brush, brush the future buns with a beaten egg.

8. Separately combine room temperature butter, sugar and flour in a bowl. Rub everything with your hands until the formation of a confectionery crumb or, as it is also called, a streusel. Sprinkle it on the workpieces. Cover the dish with a towel and let sit for 10 minutes.

9. Buns made from yeast dough without milk should be baked in an oven preheated to 180 degrees until a beautiful golden color for about 35-40 minutes.

10. Lush buns are ready. Remove from the mold and cool.

Serve with a cup of aromatic tea.
