Semi-finished puff pastry is a universal product for baking at home. Light, weightless, with a neutral taste - it is suitable for any filling, preparation of a miniature snack in the form of tartlets and canapes, empty and spiced sticks, croissant bagels, pies and strudel.
This time, I propose to gather around an open sweet puff pastry pie - quite presentable for inviting guests. Lightly caramelize the apples, saturate them with a creamy aroma, and to balance the sweetness, decorate the pastries with a small handful of bitter-sour berries: cranberries or lingonberries.

Puff pastry - 200 g
Green apples - 3 pcs.
Butter - 40 g
Sugar - 50 g
Berries, mint, powdered sugar - for decoration

If you decide to bake a sweet cake from ready-made puff pastry in the oven, take the products from the list. Defrost the semi-finished product in advance on the refrigerator shelf, in the package. I advise you not to roll out the dough, but leave the original thickness - when baking, such a cake is better stratified into thin slices and grows.
In addition to apples, choose other firm fruits of your choice. Quince, pear, even pumpkin are good here.
Flavor with ground cinnamon or other spices (anise, cardamom) if necessary. But for those who love a delicate creamy and natural aftertaste, I recommend keeping flavorings to a minimum.
So, unfold the dough and transfer it into a container greased with soft butter (with a diameter of 20-25 cm). We level the layer.
Cut off the excess dough around the circumference (use it again, for example, for bagels). We make punctures over the entire area with a fork.
The dough rises strongly in the oven. Can be covered with parchment with beans or other weights. I like to bake uncovered. Thus, the cake becomes airy, multilayer, fragile.
We bake the base for the cake for about 20 minutes at a temperature of 180 degrees (the oven should be hot by that time).
At the same time, melt butter and granulated sugar in a frying pan.
We give the mixture to boil. Strongly caramel is not dark. Immediately cut the strong green apples into thick slices. Cut off the tough peel, but not the tender.
Add apples, shake and cover with caramel for about 5 minutes, soften.
When the filling and tortilla are already edible on their own, we collect our sweet cake. Place the caramelized apple slices in the center of the base, retreat from the edge by about 1 cm. Return the apple pie to the oven. Charcoal under the grill for about 3 minutes. Cool it down.
Sprinkle the apple puff pastry cake with powdered sugar, cranberries and mint leaves.
