When deciding to cook healthy oatmeal jelly from flakes, take the products on the list. You will need clean drinking water, you can boil the required volume in advance and cool to room temperature.
Oatmeal is used both whole, in flakes, and ground to a state of flour. Both options are correct, the liquid takes away starch with a long soak in any case.
If you like it sweeter, add sugar, jam,
jam or at the end of cooking, pour in a portion of natural honey, which will make the lean drink even more valuable.To keep all the hassle to a minimum, I do not grind the rolled oats. Dip the dry oatmeal into a convenient deep container and fill it with cold water. Cover with gauze, lid or plate and leave at room temperature to swell. Here the time varies from 6-12 hours to two days. Experienced housewives keep it longer, let it “ripen” for the future rich taste (for the sake of sharpness, they often throw in an additional slice of rye bread). But even after six hours, jelly is obtained from the composition.
Having stood, for example, overnight, the oatmeal swells to the fullest.
We pass the flakes through a fine sieve together with a cloudy liquid. We squeeze the cake, release the starch to the maximum.
Do not throw away used oatmeal - dispose of when baking oat pancakes/ bread or while cooking any smoothies and porridge.
After filtering, we send the cloudy liquid to the overhead fire. We constantly stir.
We brew the oatmeal jelly until a silky, uniform thickening and bring to a boil. We do not boil for a long time, we immediately remove it from the stove.
Having cooled to the desired temperature, we serve tender oatmeal jelly to the table.
