Hot "buters" with potatoes from the USSR: 15 minutes, homemade are happy and ask for more

The recipe for sandwiches with potatoes came to us from the Soviet Union, when food was in short supply and relatives tried to feed seven hearty and minimally expensive dishes, which, moreover, could be served not only on weekdays, but also on a festive table.

Cooking requires a minimum of ingredients and the same amount of your time. Hot sandwiches will be ready in about 10-15 minutes. The speed of preparation of this dish sets it apart from many, so students and those who are always short of time are especially favored by it.

The variety of potatoes is not particularly important, the main thing is to wait 2-3 minutes after adding salt and drain the resulting juice, otherwise the sandwiches will float in the pan and the potato mass will come off the bread. You need to fry potatoes first, and not vice versa!

Prepare the products: potatoes, white bread, vegetable oil, chicken egg, salt, ground black pepper.

Peel potato tubers, rinse thoroughly. Cut out blackheads, if any.

Grate the tubers with a coarse-mesh grater into a deep bowl or salad bowl. Season with salt and pepper immediately, stir. Wait about 2-3 minutes and be sure to drain the resulting potato juice.

Add a little more salt, as some of it has merged with the juice. Beat the chicken egg into the mixture and beat the entire contents of the container for about 1 minute. The egg white should wrap the potatoes well so that they don't fall apart when frying.

Place the pan on the stove, pour vegetable oil on it and heat it up. Then coat one side of the bread slices with the potato mass. However, the layer should not be too thick, otherwise the potatoes will not bake inside!

Then quickly turn the pieces over and place them in the hot oil, potato layer side down. That's right, and not vice versa! Fry over medium heat for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown. The heating should not be strong, otherwise the potatoes will burn on top, and inside will remain damp!

After that, turn the sandwiches and fry for about 1-2 minutes. Turn off the stove.

Serve ruddy and colorful hot potato sandwiches right away. They fit perfectly with garlic sauce, sour cream, low-fat mayonnaise, various pickles and pickled vegetables.

Ingredients:

  • Potatoes - 3 pcs. (small)
  • White bread - 4 slices
  • Vegetable oil - 40 ml
  • Chicken egg - 1 pc.
  • Salt - 2 pinches
  • Ground black pepper - 1 pinch
