Perhaps, many people know the French Christmas recipe for pears simmered in aromatic syrup based on red wine. Seems like it could be easier? Baking pears in a spicy wine syrup with warm autumn aromas of cinnamon and anise can be easier. And since we decided to deviate from the classics, we will replace the wine with dry white. The result is an autumn dessert, no less exquisite, very aromatic and tasty!

Ingredients:

Pears (hard variety) - 3 pcs.

Dry white wine - 1 glass

Orange - 1 pc.

Cinnamon (sticks) - 2 pcs.

Anise (stars) - 2 pcs.

Brown sugar (cane) - 2 tbsp.

Step by step recipe:

Step 1 of 7

Prepare the ingredients and turn the oven on to preheat to 205 ° C.

Pears must be hard varieties, otherwise they will turn into a puree during baking.

Instead of dry wine, semi-sweet wine is also suitable, but then you may need to reduce the amount of sugar. The main thing is that it is tasty wine of good quality.

Peel the pears and cut in half, keeping the stick in one of the halves. Use a small spoon to cut out the fruit balls, remove the seed pod and place the fruit in a baking dish, cut side up.

Remove the zest from the orange. Cut the citrus in half. Spread the zest over the pears, and squeeze the juice from the orange into a mold. Add sugar and spices.

Pour in the wine. Place the pear pan in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Take it out from time to time to pour the aromatic syrup on the pear halves.

Arrange the finished pears on serving plates. And strain the syrup, pour into a saucepan and boil over high heat until it becomes a thick sauce, while its volume will significantly decrease.

How to serve pears? Everything is simple here! It is advisable to serve them immediately after cooking. The fruit can be poured over the resulting thick sauce and it will already be delicious.

And you can complement the dessert with crumbled meringue, chocolate syrup, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or whipped cream, although it adds calories. It is not worth serving "complex additives" in addition to pears, because the syrup, in which the fruit languished, already has a rather rich taste.

And of course, a sprig of mint will make this dessert dish more elegant.

Pears baked in wine syrup look very presentable and can be the finishing touch to a festive menu. They have a delicate texture and bright aroma.

After a hearty meal, this dessert will be more appropriate than high-calorie cakes or pastries.

Bon Appetit!
