Cooking herring with onions and vinegar dressing (one of the most popular snacks)

Probably, there is not a single family in which they would not like herring. Even the most indifferent will surely reach for a plate with it at least once during a feast. Herring with onions and vinegar dressing is one of the most popular appetizers at all holiday celebrations, especially on New Years. Cooking delicious fish is very simple and incredibly fast. Be sure to try, this is already a classic.

Ingredients:

  • Lightly salted herring - 1 pc.
  • Bulb onions - 1 pc.
  • Lean oil - 2 tablespoons
  • White wine vinegar - 1 tbsp
  • Ch.m. pepper - optional

Prepare all the necessary foods according to the list. The onion in this dish tastes best to use red sweet or white sterling, but it will also be very tasty with regular onions. Buy herring large, with whole skin and a dense belly, from a trusted seller and preferably slightly salted.

The first step is to clean the fish. Cut off the head and tail, rip open the belly, remove all entrails. Be sure to remove the black tape. Wipe the inside of the belly with paper towels. Then cut the skin along the back. Remove the fin. Carefully remove the skin.

Separate the pulp from the ridge, cut each fillet into slices about 2 centimeters thick.

Transfer the fish to any convenient deep bowl. Chop the onion into rings and sprinkle it over the herring.

Next, pour the pieces of fish with delicious vegetable oil and white wine vinegar, if desired, you can pepper. Stir gently. Leave to marinate for 30 minutes.

You can also put the herring in a small jar, sprinkle the layers with onions, add oil and vinegar and send to the refrigerator before use.

After a while, transfer the fish to a flat dish, sprinkle with pickled onions, garnish with sprigs of fresh herbs and serve. A gorgeous, everyone's favorite snack is ready. Pour a glass of icy white, take a piece of Borodino bread and let it be delicious to you.
