You can, of course, just cut the fruit into pieces and bake it together with the bird, but it will be much tastier if, in addition, you prepare an orange marinade, which you soak the meat with before stewing. This sauce will make the chicken more juicy and tender. In addition to orange juice, the marinade contains other components, each of which has its own flavor load.

Ingredients:

Chicken drumsticks - 500 gr.

Orange - 1 pc.

Bulb onions - 1 pc.

Ginger root - 20 gr.

Refined oil - 2 tablespoons

Liquid honey - 1 tbsp.

Curry - 0.3 tsp

Garlic - 2 teeth

Paprika - 0.5 tsp

Salt to taste

Oregano - a pinch

To bake chicken with oranges in the oven at home, prepare all the foods listed above.

Prepare the orange marinade first. To do this, pour the required portion of vegetable oil into a bowl. Add honey, which must be in a liquid state. The candied product will have to be melted in advance in a water bath. Try to distribute the honey over the oil base with continuous stirring.

Then add the whole set of the specified spices: paprika, curry and oregano. Stir.

Peel the top layer of the ginger root. Grind it into a gruel using a grater. You can use dry ground ginger if you like. Remove the top layer from the cloves of garlic, crush under a press and throw into the main composition.

Rinse the orange, cut half into large slices. From the second half of the fruit, squeeze the orange juice directly into the marinade with your hands. If possible, it is better, of course, to use a juicer. Set aside the chopped part of the orange for a while, it will come in handy later.

When all ingredients are added, mix the mixture thoroughly, let stand for 5 minutes.

In the meantime, prepare the meat - thoroughly wash the chicken parts under running water, dry slightly.

Place the chicken in a deep container, fill it with orange marinade so that it covers each piece of meat. Marinate the drumsticks for the next 30 minutes. In principle, it can take longer, so the meat will become even softer.

Transfer the chicken drumsticks to a baking dish or skillet after removing the handle. Pour all the marinade on top of the meat.

Place the orange slices left earlier on top. Peel a small onion, cut into large segments, place them in a container next to the meat. Place the mold in the preheated oven.

Bake the chicken with oranges in the oven for about 40 minutes at 200 degrees. Water the meat periodically with an orange juice. Cooking times may vary based on the function of your oven.

Transfer the prepared meat to the main course along with the baked orange slices.
