3 easy ways to separate the yolk from the white without getting your hands dirty

If you want to cook scrambled eggs on whites or custard on yolks, bake meringues or meringues, then you will have to, whatever one may say, separate the yolks from the whites when breaking chicken eggs.

Moreover, for protein dishes, this must be done extremely carefully, since an extra yolk drop and they will not whip into a lush snow-white foam!

For yolk dishes, the ingestion of protein is not so critical. So that you do not scold yourself for an oversight, we will consider with you several options for separating the contents of an egg without hands.

Special spatula

The first option is the simplest - using a special kitchen gadget in the form of a spatula with a depression and long holes along the edges through which the protein will drain. The yolk, when breaking an egg of any kind, will remain in the depression and will not drain. Its cost is small, since it is made of plastic, it can be purchased at any hardware store or supermarket.

Plastic bottle

If the gadget is out of stock, an ordinary plastic bottle of any volume will help you: 0.5-2 liters. This option is even simpler, you just need to prepare several deep containers in advance: one for the whites, the other for the yolks. You need to act carefully. Break the eggs one at a time into a deep container, being careful not to damage the yolk. Then, lightly squeeze a clean, empty plastic bottle and suck the yolk into it through the neck. Transfer it to another container. Voila, the yolk is intact and the white is without yolk drops. In this way, detach all the other eggs that you need to create the recipe.

Funnel

Well, the classic funnel (watering can), the main thing is that the neck of the watering can is not wide, otherwise the yolk itself will drain through it. Place the funnel on a glass or cup, break the egg into it and shake it slightly: the white will merge through the funnel into the container, and the yolk will remain in it. Just move it to another container and thus separate the contents of the rest of the eggs.

In these three cases, your hands will remain clean and you will effortlessly complete your plan.

In other options, you will have to separate the yolk from the protein with your own hands, breaking the egg in half. Enjoy cooking!
